To inquire or apply for the 2025-2026 school year please follow these steps:
To learn more about Exeter, complete the online inquiry form. We’ll send you a viewbook: a close-up on campus life and learning with answers to commonly asked questions.
Apply online: Start by completing and submitting the Candidate Profile within the Gateway to Prep Schools application portal. Approximately 24 hours after submitting your candidate Profile, you will receive login credentials for your Exeter Applicant Portal. Within the Exeter Applicant Portal you can schedule an interview, submit essays and the Parent Statement, and track the submission of application materials.
Application materials: All application materials are due by Jan. 15 and must be submitted via the Gateway portal and in your Exeter Applicant Portal.
Standardized tests: Standardized testing is required for all applicants. Please review the list of application materials for information on which tests are accepted at each grade level. If the cost of the test causes a financial hardship for your family, call our office and we will be happy to assist.
Homeschooling: We welcome applications from home-schooled students. Please use the Gateway portal to submit materials.
Apply for financial aid: Exeter’s admissions process is need-blind. In the 2024-2025 school year, we allocated $27 million in need-based financial aid. Tuition-free attendance is available for families with incomes below $125,000.
We want to know what makes you unique! Candidates applying for the 2025-2026 school year are eligible to schedule their interview virtually or in person with an admissions officer.
To schedule your on campus or virtual interview, please visit your Exeter Applicant Portal.
To access the Exeter Applicant Portal, you must first complete the Part 1 of the Gateway to Prep Schools application. Once submitted, you will receive your login information to your Exeter Applicant Portal the following day.
